The challenge.
Our client’s Mergers &
Acquisitions activity was helping to ramp up business and increase
global presence. However, with all these cross-border acquisitions
they didn’t have a standardized Operations and IT platform to handle
transition or integrating to a new system seamlessly.
We were asked to create an open Financial Services Architecture
and platform for integrating future acquisition. Our WPS (Wholesale
Payment System) was an attempt to ‘Restructure ICV’ (an existing
system under ‘increase payments’ program).
Our solution.
We followed the onsite model
and developed this project in two phases. Phase I included the
construction phase, unit testing phase and system testing phase of
the SDLC using the technical design prepared by the client’s
application development and maintenance team. Phase II featured the
modification of the functional design of Phase I and preparing a
technical consequence study report in realizing Phase II.
The results.
We successfully developed and
delivered the Wholesale Payment System to the client who realized
some of the following benefits:
- A step towards alignment of the overall business model of the
organization with its Financial Services Architecture.
- Eliminated manual processes and duplicative efforts, improved
efficiency and customer service, and lowered costs.
- A robust and standardized Trade Order Management.
- Significant ease in integrating and managing payment
processes.
The client also benefited from our onsite development
methodology.
- High quality of deliverables as the application development
framework was based on CMM Level 5 processes.
- Increased transparency as visibility into the project
management processes was very high.
- High turnaround time owing to proper assignment of tasks .
